Monika Eckert, born in 1961, lives with her husband, son, and two cats in Bad Nauheim, Germany. She has been crafting and a keen knitter since childhood. She loves working patterns into her knitting designs. She prefers knitting shawls, but also enjoys making socks, accessories, and jackets and jumpers whenever she has the time. Stephanie van der Linden was taught to knit by her grandmother before she had even learned to read and write. She is particularly fascinated by the mathematical patterns behind stitches and therefore enjoys refining her stitch techniques and instructions. After the birth of her daughter she began to design patterns for babies and infants using eco-friendly yarn. Since then she has been hooked on small projects and has published numerous sock patterns.
