Dmaso De Lario is a diplomat and historian and an expert in 17th century Spanish institutional and social history. He has published several books and articles on that subject. He is a Doctor in Letters 'honoris causa' by the University of East Anglia (England) and was Ambassador of Spain to Indonesia and Timor Leste (2002-2007). He is currently Ambassador of Spain to Venezuela.
