The Vicos Project, conducted in Peru by Allan Holmberg and Carlos Monge between 1952 and 1962, was, in its time, the most influential contribution to applied anthropology in the Andean countries as well as within the developing world. The project provoked strong controversy not only as it was being done but also in later years and still today.
