Aerial Photography and Image Interpretation

Low-altitude aerial photography is currently the only method of capturing detail at sub-meter resolutions and at a range of temporal points, which is integral to many resource and land-use management applications. The interpretation of this imagery is a necessary skill for all those involved in resource management, land-use planning, archeology, oceanography, forestry, and many other disciplines. The late David P. Paine was Professor Emeritus in the Department of Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management at Oregon State University. James D. Kiser is an Assistant Professor and Head Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. He is also a Certified Photogrammetrist.
