The purpose for writing this book was first and foremost to enlighten the reader of the reasons behind being overweight, obese and unhealthy, and to separate scientific fact from marketing hype, and drug company propaganda. Everyone has heard the ¿buzz¿ words: Cholesterol, trans fats, cortisol, omega-3, diabetes, low-glycemic, carbohydrates, saturated fats, antioxidants, protein, soy, organic, and calories, but few really know what these words mean or how they affect us.
