Brooke Merriman's only joy in life has been her ballet dancing. Preparing for the role of her dreams, Brooke moves to Charlotte, North Carolina, to dance as a guest artist with the Charlotte Ballet. It is there that she happens to meet Jason Lancaster, a tall, handsome photographer who takes her photo for the newspaper. When Brooke becomes the victim of a violent crime, Jason lets down his guard to help her. What Jason begins to piece together causes him to suspect that someone very close to Brooke is the instigator of the crime, which leads him to an even more stunning realization about Brooke's past. They begin to fall in love, but Brooke pushes him away, believing her injuries will only be a hindrance for him. Will learning the truth of her past and mending lost connections give her the courage she needs to reciprocate his love?
