Seeking Shelter on the Pacific Rim: Financial Globalization, Social Change, and the Housing Market: Financial Globalization, Social Change, and the Housing Market

Building on an analysis of the changes that financial globalization is bringing about in the housing and home-finance markets of the United States, Japan, and South Korea, this work examines how the liberalization of national financial markets has affected the relationships among governments, markets, and individuals. It develops a new critical response to economic globalization based on the social efficiency of policy and market shifts, with special attention to gender inequality.
