Love is different things to different people. Love can motivate us, uplift us, break our hearts, and at its worst, kill us; figuratively and sometimes literally. If love hasn't inspired you to be great, then you have not been in love. If love hasn't strengthened your spirit, then you have not been in love. If you have never been heartbroken, and if the associated pain didn't make you feel dead inside and dead to the world, then you have not been in love. Love elevated Walter Harrison higher than he has ever been, only to drop him further than he has ever fallen. In his darkest times, Walter finds the will to climb, inch by inch, out of the personal hell that love has created for him. The same cannot be said for James Saint, who unfortunately succumbs to the pain that love causes him. Through James, Walter learns that a line, as thin as a razor's edge, separates a figurative death from a literal one
