As Soon As the Weather Breaks

Charles decides he's tired of living on the farm, taking care of animals, being called a country boy, and feeling generally neglected. He also doesn't like the education he's getting at the local high school. He gets an opportunity to leave the farm when his brother buys him a car. He wanted to find a big city far enough away that his parents couldn't find him. He took what money he had saved and headed for Chicago one Friday evening after school. He had many trials and tribulation, but found individuals who helped him to his objectives, and eventually received a Ph.D from the University of Chicago.

Jay Thomas Willis was born in East Texas. Graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.S. degree in sociology. He also graduated from Texas Southern University with a M.Ed. in counseling, in addition to receiving a MSW in social work from the University of Houston. Willis has written twelve books, several consumer articles, fifteen professional journal articles, and Op-Ed Commentaries for the Chicago Defender, and the Final Call Newspapers. He lives in Richton Park, Illinois, with his wife and son.
