1904. This book is only a by-work of the mighty chronicler of the history of France, the pastille of a period of comparative leisure and relaxation in a busy life spent at Toulon, the scene of some of the most thrilling of the events recorded - the pieties and ecstasies, the temptations and sufferings of poor Charlotte Cadiere and the villainies of her seducer, the vile hypocrite, Father Girard.
