State Resistance to Globalisation in Cuba

In a world dominated by neo-liberal globalisation, Cuba stands apart as a tiny enclave of resistance to the free market economy. Its success -- in the face of massive opposition from the US and the apparent triumph of neoliberalism worldwide -- is remarkable. Antonio Carmona Baez is a young Puerto Rican scholar and activist.
Currently based in the Netherlands, he works at the TNI (TransNational Institute) along with such opponents of globalisation as Susan George and Walden Bello.
