James J.F. Forest, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a senior fellow at the U.S. Joint Special Operations University. He is the former Director of Terrorism Studies at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and has taught courses on terrorism, counterterrorism and weapons of mass destruction for a broad range of civilian, law enforcement and military audiences in several countries. He has also published fourteen books and dozens of journal articles, served as an expert witness for terrorism-related court cases, and testified before members of Congress.
