Carol Miller is an independent investigator devoted to the Maya for close to fifty years. Not only a tireless student and traveler, she is also a translator, photographer, gastronomer, and prominent sculptor whose bronze figures are celebrated in Mexico and beyond. She is a member of the Society for American Archaeology and the Institute for Maya Studies. Her work as a journalist included three years as the LIFE correspondent in Mexico (1962-64). As a travel writer she wrote for both the Mexico City News and the Mexico City Times, as well as newspaper travel sections and magazines devoted to travel in Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Europe
