Who's Been Here?

Fran Hodgkins is the author of numerous nonfiction books for children. Her book The Orphan Seal was named one of the 100 Classic New England Children's Books by Yankee magazine, and it received the Henry Bergh Children's Book Award from the ASPCA. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines. She lives in Sparks, Maryland. Karel Hayes is a watercolor painter and illustrator whose paintings have been shown in many places, including the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, the Fine Arts Center in Taos, New Mexico. Her drawings have appeared in several magazines and she has illustrated more than ten books. She lives in Center Harbor, New Hampshire.
