Words to my firstborn

This is a vivid tale of young men facing the obstacles of chasing the American dream (trying to provide a better life) for their families. On their journey they make a wrong decision and turn to the street life. The route they chose stole their innocence which made them encounter betrayal, murder and prison. Words were written to their first-born children in the hopes they would choose a different route and not have to endure the same suffering as their father's.

Shanon Shorter writes a powerful story, depicting a day in the life of three young black men navigating their way through unfortunate circumstances, despite the odds. And is a devoted father of four He is currently awaiting his appeal for a life sentence without parole.
