Youth, Crime and Justice

This juvenile justice text will introduce a wide range of topics in juvenile justice that are under-explored in the US. The themes will include: moral panics promoted by the media and associated with youth delinquency: violence; restorative justice for youth; studies of the experience of a juvenile institution, forms of youth culture that have been criminalized, such as graffiti, street performances and activities like skateboarding. There will be a focus on comparative juvenile justice, reflecting the increasing globalization of issues and concerns relating to juveniles. This is an essential text book aimed at upper level undergraduate and postgraduate students taking a juvenile option.
