The primary audience for the Atlas of Florida's Natural Heritage is those who are informed, interested, and/or influential in environmental issues, but lack specific information and expertise: planners, policymakers, and environmental/conservation advocates, from the local to state levels of government and NGO activities. We want the Atlas to raise their awareness and inform their decision-making.A secondary audience is environmental/conservation/natural resource experts. We want the Atlas to be well received and highly regarded by experts. While the Atlas may not provide new information to this audience, it will serve as a useful reference that compiles a variety of information into one place. The final audience to consider is the general public. We want the Atlas to inspire, educate, and raise awareness of and interest in biodiversity and conservation issues. However, this is not our primary audience, and we do not want to overly simplify or lighten the issues covered.
