A Big Picture What We Stand On and How We Rise

A Big Picture offers readers a series of brief, non-technical essays on the existential foundations that support us human beings, all the way from the Universe, itself; to the Earth; to our Homo sapiens natures, bodies, and psyches.
Readers are encouraged to build on what they learn from the essays—and from their own answers to the author's self-reflection questions—to form more textured pictures of who they are and how they can develop in the realms of spirituality, human compassion, work, politics, sports, and the Arts.

Doug Favero grew up in a small Montana town near Yellowstone Park and the Crow Indian Reservation. After college, he served as a Vista volunteer in inner-city Atlanta. He then taught history and worked as a school psychologist in the Washington D.C. public schools. For the past forty years, he has conducted a psychotherapy practice in D.C. He currently serves as a committee chair with the D.C. Psychological Association.
