Diana entered a world that rejected her before she could speak. Abandoned as an infant and left to grow up in a bleak orphanage, she was marked by the color of her skin. A constant reminder that she did not belong. Too dark to be Russian, too confused to be accepted. Diana's life was a big challenge that she had to face. She faced Isolation, racism, and neglect with a spirit that refused to be broken. Diana's story holds pieces of her untold childhood, her pain, her trauma and her healing. It follows her journey through the orphanage were she learned silence and survival would be her first language.

Diana Colon is published author & publisher children book Illustrator. She is an Afro Russian who was born in Russia and later adopted to the United States. Diana Channels her lived experiences into her writing that is raw, honest and healing. Her Memoir, A Black Rose In Russia, reflects her journey through trauma, separation, finding hope and long courageous path toward wholeness. Today, she continues to create stories both written and illustrated that uplift, empower, and remind readers that every survivor carries a blooming strength within them selves.
