The charming breadwinner, his beautiful right hand and glue that held the family together along with 6 children! A family of 8 living in a small, white, 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom ranch home down a long dirt lane with potholes, abandoned trailers, parties, and drugs.

One-way in. One way out.
Yes. This was "the hole". A small, hallow and unpleasant place. A place so dark and deep that the likelihood of getting out seemed impractical but one little girl, though bloody and bruised, finds her a way out.

The things she witnessed, people she encountered, the calamities, adversity, and misfortunes experienced were meant to "BREAK HER" but instead…they "BUILT HER"!

Tanisha Showell can usually be found drawing, watching the History channel, reading or studying the word of God. Writing a book about her life experiences as child is a task by God and eventually, after 11 years, with "Childhood", the task is complete! When not absorbed in reading and writing Tanisha spends time with her chilren.
