Construction for Landscape Architecture

This is the first visual book on the subject to be aimed at students and professionals. This book covers all aspects of landscape construction, giving a good understanding of building materials and of assembly. Well designed landscape construction depends on a thorough understanding of materials (including their formation, chemistry and physical characteristics) and of practical construction. Following a brief introduction, the book is divided into five chapters on general principles, materials, elements, assembly, and protection and finishes. The book is illustrated with numerous specially commissioned, detailed construction drawings. At the end of the book there is a glossary and an appendix of technical information.

Robert Holden is a practicing landscape architect. He has worked with Jamie Liversedge on projects in the Netherlands and the UK, and teaches landscape architecture and garden design at the University of Greenwich, London. He is the author of New Landscape Design (Laurence King, 2003).

Jamie Liversedge is a landscape architect who has worked on projects ranging from hotels and resorts in Dubai and Cyprus to parks in Hong Kong and Singapore. He teaches landscape architecture and garden design at the University of Greenwich, London.
