How origami originated is uncertain. It is known to have come from Japan and is closely related to the best values of the Eastern culture: patience, work, and above all, the search for spiritual peace. Origami is a precious Japanese treasure that has evolved and accompanied humankind throughout the centuries. As such, today it is being offered to us, ready to open for us a space in which to fashion on an innocent paper figure that which we wish to be as people.

Kazuko Maeshiro learned origami through family tradition. She currently she teaches courses and workshops at the Daiwa Center, the Japanese Garden, and in several schools.
