Herbert Brandl

Brandls work concentrates on the subject of landscape, although the pictures themselves alternate between the painterly abstract and the representational in terms of motif. This publication presents a number of works from the early eighties onward, accompanied by very new paintings created specifically for the retrospective. In addition, the book explores Brandls affinity for the paintings of Albrecht ltdorfer, Titian, and Peter Paul Rubens in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
