As Gabriel immigrates from Cuba to the United States, he feels all kinds of emotions: wander, fear, anxiety, sadness, and hope. His feelings are expressed through his dreams during the journey and understanding as him and his parents reach their destination.

Anakarina Hurtado was born in Venezuela, raised in Miami, Florida, and currently lives in Columbus, Indiana. Growing up, she has had an interest in education and cultural diversity, leading to the writing of "La Gran Aventura de Gabriel / Gabriel's Grand Adventure", an immigration story through the lens of a young child.
