POMES! whimsy and wanderings in verse

Pomes—verses lighter and less formal than poems per se—invite readers into insights, laughs, and flights of fancy on a meander down the backroads of otherwise familiar terrain. An exploration of the extraordinary ordinaries of existence, different walks of life, car travel, intergenerational dynamics, and, via both established and experimental forms, the writing of poetry itself.

Anne Ross has nurtured a love of writing and doing artwork since she was a kid in Canada. She has written everything from screenplays to advertising copy and has edited books in such areas as self-help, business, scholarly historical nonfiction, and science fiction. She graduated from film school summa cum laude with an emphasis in animation. Her credentials also include being a mom to two amazing life adventurers, working as a stagehand for small-potatoes local theater productions, and the perennial pursuit of wonder, what-if, and whimsy. She currently resides about ten miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
