Pole Dunne has been identifying birds across North America for more than three decades. He is the author of numerous books on birding, bird identification, and natural history-including The Art of Bird Identification, Pete Dunne's Essential Field Guide Companion, Arctic Autumn, The Feather Quest, and The Art of Pishing-and is director of the New Jersey Audubon Society's Cape May Bird Observatory. In 2001, he was awarded the Roger Tony Peterson Award by the American Birding Association. He lives in Cumberland County, New Jersey.
