Hiroto Uchihara is Assistant Research Professor in the Instituto de Investigaciones Filologicas at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He received his PhD in linguistics from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, in 2013. His research focuses primarily on the phonology and morphology of various Native American languages, particularly Cherokee and Zapotec, from both a synchronic and diachronic perspective.
