In this fast-paced tale of high-risk flying adventures, the mystique of one very special flight jacket created by the skilled hands of an old tailor on the eve of the U.S. entry into WW II takes on a persona of its own as it plays into the lives of all those who wear it.

Authored by a seasoned military and civilian professional pilot, the story takes the reader into the cockpit as the main characters contend with a variety of high-flying, high-adrenalin, sometimes life-threatening, challenges. Portrayed against the backdrop of real-world events from the Flying Tigers Group in WW II China to the attack on Pearl Harbor and on to flying with Air America in Laos, a civil war in Guatemala, and illegal drug smuggling across the Baja of Mexico, the story runs the gamut of human emotion and international intrigue.

Hal James is a retired Army aviator and civilian professional pilot whose professional flying experiences include flying stints throughout North America, Mexico, and Guatemala as well as flying to offshore oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and flights across the Caribbean from Trinidad to Bermuda. The author currently lives with his wife in the Dallas Area. The couple enjoys spending much of their time focusing on the family, including five grandchildren. Hal devotes any of his in-between-time to his love of storytelling through his writing.
