Umm al-Dunya Advanced Egyptian Colloquial Arabic

This textbook is directed to learners of Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, who have previously studied MSA. It is the first textbook to handle different levels and the variety of contexts of Egyptian Colloquial, that is, everyday spoken language as well as educated spoken language. The textbook is the first to introduce both levels through multimedia. It addresses recent and compelling topics that are of interest to learners of both language and culture. It is also the first to focus on teaching pronunciation as a skill. Umm al-Dunya contains ten lessons. Each lesson contains two parts. Abbas Al-Tonsi is a senior lecturer in Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in Qatar. He is the author or co-author of a number of Arabic coursebooks, including the Al Kitaab series.
