Under its current trajectory, the church is not sustainable. The prevailing doctrines of today have made the church weak, resulting in losses in numbers and a lack of commitment to the Lord. Although the teachings may appear effective for a season, after many years of observation, it is evident that they are destroying the church. These doctrines are in nearly every church on every corner of this country, and they have been wearing away the fabric of truth for decades. As a result, the focus of the church has moved from eternity and heaven to personal gain, enjoyment, and position in this world. Therefore, instead of recognizing the signs of our Lord's soon return, the church is sleeping. Furthermore, an unforeseen consequence of these doctrines has been the political rise of Donald Trump and the increased politicization of the church, which has pulled us further away from God.

"The Lulling to Sleep of the Church" is a call for reformation in the church today. It is the proverbial ninety-five theses nailed to the door of the present-day church. This "list of grievances" shows how the current doctrines are detrimental and how they are breaking down the foundation and faith of the believer – lulling the church to sleep. The correct teachings are also explained, which, if emphasized, will awaken God's people from their slumber, so they are watching and waiting for His return. It is evident from books and websites that numerous people know the preaching and practices of much of the church today are incorrect. Although these individuals can describe some of the problems, they just can't quite put their finger on it, so to speak. They are unable to delineate the full extent of what is wrong and why it is so damaging and offensive to God. I am certain these pages will open people's eyes and hearts to see a more complete picture of the prevailing doctrines of today and how they have undermined the gospel message and the Christian faith, leaving the church weak, off course, and asleep. The sins of the church are laid out plainly through the use of Scripture, and it is a call to repentance. If the church is to survive, we must change who we are and what we teach. My hope is that each reader gains insight and discernment to awaken from their slumber so that they are watching and ready when Jesus returns.
