The Accidental Farmer The Story of Ross Farm

Nova Scotia's Ross Farm Museum is a living window into the province's agricultural history. His untimely death at age thirty-nine left Mary, then pregnant, to care for five young children on her own. Joan Watson is known to many Canadians as the originator and host of CBC's highly popular Marketplace, a consumer-advocacy program. After a rich career in broadcasting, she chaired a task force on health care. She started Gaurdian Angels, a Canada-wide program through which seniors knit bonnets and booties for premature babies. Joan is a member of the board of trustees at Ross Farm Museum.

Murray Creed had a long career in agricultural writing and broadcasting. He was a farm commentator for CBC Radio and a series producer-director for CBC in Toronto, where his shows included Country Canada, This Land, and Marketplace. An avid researcher, he lives with his wife, Joan Watson, in Halifax.
