The Passion and Death of Jesus Christ is the most amazing event that has ever happened in world history. A trial that ended with the death of an innocent man based on fear, jealousy and a callous attitude. The charges which led to his arrest were planned and paid for. In Matthew page 6 Judas offered to hand him over to the Jews to be crucified if he was paid.He died a horrific death, after hours of torture and humiliation, beaten spat upon even by the most junior Officers in the Army and to confirm his innocence he challenged them on several occasions on the reasons for the beatings and humiliation. In John page 46 Jesus asked a guard who slapped him in the face ''If there is something wrong in what I said, point it out, but if there is no offence in it why do you strike me''. In Mark page 25 Jesus asked '' Am I a brigand that you to set out to capture me with swords and Clubs? I was among you teaching in the temple day after day and you never laid hands on me''In other words Jesus was challenging the reasons for his arrest to prove his innocence. The Passion narrative is the Gospel in all Churches on Passion Sunday and Good Friday. It is normally read by a Priest and in some Churches by the Priest supported by two lay people. This book is characterized into parts, covering the 3 Church cycles including the Passion for Good Friday.
