Rose's Journey

Sleep was lost, as the King pondered the crisis. Before dawn, a plan was laid to keep their family safe. After much deliberation, the King and Queen decided to split their family, leaving in the care of their daughter to the steward and his wife, who was also the queen's lady in waiting, they had graciously offered to take the new princess and care for her until their return.Before they departed, the queen pulled her lady in waiting aside. "When the time is right, give this to Christa Rose." said the Queen, handing her a tightly wrapped keepsake. It was in a ripped piece of her garment, with the decoration of the family crest. It was the Queens favorite piece of jewelry, an elegantly crafted Silver necklace in the shape of a rose cameo on top. With the decisions made, the steward and his wife disappeared into the forest.
