Installations from 25 Years Falckenberg Collection

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Falckenberg Collection, Deichtorhallen Hamburg/ Falckenberg Collection will present a comprehensive exhibition focusing on installation and sculptural works from the collection. The exhibition presents around 100 works by over 60 internationally renowned artists, which have already been on loan to the Centre Pompidou, PS1, Walker Art Center, Tate Modern, MoMA New York, MOCA Los Angeles as well as the Venice and Shanghai Biennales. For the first time, these works will now be brought together in a large survey exhibition at the Falckenberg Collection in Hamburg-Harburg. Some of the exhibits will be on display for the first time in the Phoenix Hallen in Harburg. Many of the works on show, such as Jon Kessler's multimedia installation "The Palace at 4 A.M.," will be carefully restored especially for this exhibition and thus made newly accessible for visitors. In addition, the permanent installations at the Falckenberg Collection by Jonathan Meese, Thomas Hirschhorn and John Bock are an integral part of the show. 

Harald Falckenberg is entrepreneur, lawyer, and his collection is numbered among the 200 best collections of the world by Arnews. Since 2012 the Falckenberg Collection is integrated in the Deichtorhallen Hamburg. Dirk Luckow (b. 1958) has been the General Director of the Deichtorhallen Hamburg since 2009. He graduated 1996 with a dissertation on Joseph Beuys and the American Anti-Form-Art. Luckow has since worked at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Württembergische Kunstverein in Stuttgart. He also worked as project manager for visual arts at the Siemens Arts Program in Munich, before he became Director of the Kunsthalle zu Kiel from 2002 to 2009. From 2007 to 2009 he was a member of the Artistic Advisory Board of the Temporäre Kunsthalle in Berlin. In 2016, Luckow received an honorary professorship at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. Stephanie Regenbrecht is assistant at the Collection Falckenberg to Gösta Diercks the manager of the Collection.
