The work of Harold Fox has had a deep and lasting influence on people working on British landscape history, particularly for our understanding of the history of Devon and Cornwall, but his research and scholarly influence extended far beyond the south west. His research spanned historical geography, agrarian history, place-name studies, landscape history, local history and topography.
