The Standards-Based Administrative Internship Putting the ISLLC Standards into Practice

This book provides guidance to individuals who are involved in the clinical preparation of aspiring principals and superintendents. The authors argue for a high-quality internship or mentoring experience and for basing experiences around the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) framework. Additionally, it will assist mentors in understanding their vital roles in ensuring such an experience.

Donald G. Hackmann is currently associate professor and program coordinator of educational administration for the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at lowa State University. He has more than fifteen years of teaching or administrative experience in public schools in Missouri and Illinois, and earned his Ed.D. from University of Missouri at Columbia Donna M. Schmitt-Oliver is professor emeritus of educational leadership at Eastern Michigan University, where she served for more than twenty-five years as a professor and administrator in the College of Education. She has taught in public schools in Michigan and Wisconsin, and received her Ed.D. from Western Michigan University Jaclynn C. Tracy earned her Ph.D. in adult and continuing education from Michigan State University. She is currently professor of educational leadership and interim head of the Department of Leadership and Counseling at Eastern Michigan University.
