In the suffocating January darkness, Edward Connor III is fighting internal demons. Obsessed with all of life's unanswered questions, his distressed brain is running so fast that his body is unable to shut down and rest. He has reached a terrifying stage of chronic insomnia, and his deep confusion is slaughtering the last hints of a smile from his face. Edward is in trouble. His job in a prestigious law firm is gone, and his health is deteriorating at an alarming speed. His friends and family are slowly disappearing around him, and the savings from his lawyer years are diminishing fast. The only possessions Edward has left are a black Mustang GT and a small apartment in Houston, Texas. To find his salvation, Edward decides to take a walk. He steps out to face the reality he has been hiding from for too long. What he doesn't know is that the path will lead him deep inside a world of unfaithfulness, money, power, alcoholism, hate, betrayal, broken dreams, love, and hope. It will take him to the very gate that hides the answer to the meaning of life itself. Will he find the key and win his desperate race against time or perish forever....
