Activist Scholarship : Antiracism, Feminism, and Social Change

In the post-9/11 era, critical scholars have increasingly come under attack as right-wing forces have attempted to silence ways of thinking and knowing that oppose U.S.-led military, economic, and social imperatives. The contributors to this groundbreaking volume challenge progressive scholars and students to resist this trend by engaging deeply in antiracist and feminist scholarship grounded in domestic and transnational grassroots social movements. In so doing, they provide models of scholarship and teaching that link the community and the academy as sites of struggle against U.S. imperialism, racial/gender oppression, and the economic violence of capitalist globalization.
