Adult Libations

In the Platonic spirit, in which poetry is our truest reality, these illustrated poems provide a glimpse into a gay man's life in contemporary urban America. Written in one bar, at the same table, at the same window, at roughly the same time of day, they offer a passing Wordsworthian cloud of emotion. This particular window looks out on a true urban American street: gay couples adjusting one another's bowties for a fundraiser, the omnipresent homeless, occupy protesters, tourists, religious fanatics, drunks, gay men having a cigarette. Poetry is life; these poems are the mirror of one gay life, from birthday blues to thoughts on alcohol.
