After the Science Wars: Science and the Study of Science

The "War" this work speaks of is between scientists who believe that science and its methods are objective and largely above criticism versus an increasing number of social scientists, historians, philosophers and others in Science Studies who have previously questioned science and its status within our culture. This is an exciting new collection that seeks to move the debate from its recent stasis to a better relationship. The book begins with contributions from Sokal explaining his motivation for the Sokal Affair and his conclusions from it. Following this discussion, is a collection of original essays attempting to bridge the wide interdisciplinary gulfs that have arisen from this issue.
