This is the first novel in Barbara?s ?Bertha Schlinkenmayer Mystery series. Her previous series, ?Cindy Lawton Mysteries? was acclaimed as adult Nancy Drew?s. She refuses to write trash and people enjoy her novels from ages 18 to 80. Book one of her new Bertha series begins with the meeting of a new partner, a private investigator. They solve a murder of Bertha?s dear friend and find several other unsolved murders accredited to the killer. Bertha is so sure she knows the murderer that she gets a man shot and almost gets herself as one of the next victims.
