He has served as director of a White House Task Force on older Americans and is the coeditor of Dementia and Aging: Ethics, Values, and Policy Choices, The Future of Long-Term Care: Social and Policy Issues, and The Lost Art of Caring: A Challenge to Health Professionals, Families, Communities, and Society, all published by Johns Hopkins.
