Americas present a queer tale of human dispersion. If Asians wandering through the Siberian lands are believed to have been the first humans to enter the portals of the Americas many millennia ago, Europeans chartered the contours of the two sister continents merely half a millennium back. And then in another couple of centuries they populated almost every nook and corner of the two landmasses.Europeans had ventured to the new lands of their own accord, but they made millions from the African continent enter Americas against their wishes. And of late people have been flocking to Americas in search of better economic opportunities from every conceivable tract of our earth. Today, the human tapestry of Americas is virtually woven of global strands from almost all the human stocks that inhabit the earth.The present book attempts to relate the story of evolution of the identity of North America over the aeons in its peculiar geographical and historical perspective.
