This volume in the Archbishops of Canterbury series will cover the pontificates of the three minor archbishops who served between the Anselm's death in 1109 and the consecration of Thomas Becket in 1162: Ralph d'Escures (1114-1122), William of Corbeil (1123-1136), and Theobald of Bec (1139-1161). Jean Traux presents a unified biography of these three figures which permits greater focus on the major developments in the English church that spanned their pontificates. The volume includes original source material, reproduced here for the first time.
