The "ARIEN" (Alien) II - The Arecibo Incident The Puerto Rican Trench, UFOs/UAPs and USOs

The Arecibo Observatory, the world's largest radio telescope facility nestled in the northwest corner area of Puerto Rico, whispered a siren message cryptically into the cosmos, transmitted as radio signals that danced across the cosmic expanse. Those signals would later beckon visitors as a directional beacon from far beyond, amongst the stars… or The Puerto Rican Trench. The message received back three decades later was not a radio transmission reflection since it had been (intentionally) modified! This message intercept preceded the actual Unidentified Flying Object/Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena arrival and eventual downing by the US Military, sending the Alien, extraterrestrial craft, and fuselage debris toward El Yunque Tropical Rain Forest. The finding of a Non-Biologic Entity led to an autopsy whose findings and circumstances are described in the first book of this trilogy, The "Arien" (Alien) - The Arecibo Incident (2024).
The second book explores the connection between UFO/UAPs and USOs, especially how USOs can "cloak" themselves and remain undetected in our Ocean's depths. The most notable UFO/UAP cases occurring in or near Puerto Rico are cited which have led to the Island Commonwealth being designated as a "hotbed" of such activity. Christopher Columbus' sightings - "lights in the water," the phenomena of Bioluminescence, the Taino Indian petroglyphs and more - are at the book's core. The last chapter accords homage to the key accomplishments of the SETI program and the Arecibo Radio Telescope Observatory facility, which, until its closure in December 2020, was the largest (1000 meter) dish in the world. As astronomer Carl Sagan said, "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

Dr. Jerry J. Marty received his medical degree (MD) in 1976 from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan. After that, he completed six postgraduate years of training at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Postgraduate Year one), Strong Memorial Hospital/University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, New York (Postgraduate Years two to three, and five to six) and completed an additional year in straight Internal Medicine at Saint Joseph's University Hospital -VA Medical Center/Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska (Postgraduate Year four).
A Visiting Fellowship in Clinical Cytology and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) was undertaken during the fall of 1989 under the World-renowned Dr. Torsten Lowhagen at the Karolinska Hospital and Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
An eight (8) week Fellowship in Forensic Pathology was taken under the direction and tutelage of Dr. Werner Spitz, Co-Author of the "Bible" of Forensic Pathology - Medicolegal Investigation of Death (now in its 5th Edition, 2020) at The Detroit Medical Examiner's Office in Detroit, Michigan, lamentably a designated murder capital of the United States, at that time.
The author is Board-certified in Anatomic, Clinical, and Cyto-Pathology with a sub-specialization in Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Cytology. He has authored several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and two separate Book Chapters in his field of expertise, specifically in Cytopathology and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Cytology. Among his earlier responsibilities, Dr. Marty had teaching positions at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and, later, at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Pharmacy (now Northeast Ohio University College (NEOMED)), Rootstown, Ohio. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at George Washington University, School of Business (GWSB), Washington, D.C., was conferred on May 17, 2009. Dr. Marty's most recent professional position until 2016 was as Chairman of Pathology and Medical Director of Laboratories at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center (MFSMC), a three hundred seventy-eight (378) bed Joint Commission (JC) accredited hospital facility in Baltimore, Maryland (one of ten Hospitals comprising MedStar Health across Baltimore, central Maryland, Washington, D.C., and southern Maryland).
Apropos of the location chosen for this creative, nonfiction work, Dr. Marty spent many of his early years in Puerto Rico. Later, he had a home in northwest Puerto Rico, close to the Radio Telescope Observatory facility in Arecibo.
