Astronomy

This is the fourth edition of a key undergraduate astronomy book. "Roy & Clarke" are well known to astronomers, and this book, in conjunction with their Astronomy: Structure of the Universe, will serve students from first-year undergraduates to masters level. Still used as a course text, this edition was revised and extended to account for developments and changes in teaching over the last decade. It introduces the concepts and historical development of astronomy, presents a course on positional measurement and celestial mechanics, and describes the techniques and instrumentation of modern astronomical observation and measurement.
