Astronomy and Astrology

Rudolf Steiner brings a spiritual perspective to our study of the heavens. Humanity, he says, is connected intimately to cosmic beings, who are in turn related to planets and stars. Meaning exists in the cosmos. Steiner rejects simplistic notions that the planets determine our lives and behavior but nonetheless makes a clear connection between human beings and the heavenly bodies. While criticizing the superficial nature of popular astrology, Steiner shows that, as individuals with the guidance of spiritual beings, we choose the appropriate time of birth to match the destiny we are to live.
