Awakenings

Arran's pleasant life as a servant girl in a Scottish castle turns inside out overnight when a stranger appears in the dungeon. This is no ordinary stranger; the beguiling Elgol claims to come from a parallel world, and the inextinguishable flame now in their dungeon makes it hard to argue. The entire staff rallies to search the castle for clues that will return Elgol to his home. The laird of the castle, Arran, and all the servants, see their home in a new light as its mysteries unfold to reveal a deep and significant magical history. Their adventures reveal not only the creatures and stories buried long in the castle's walls, but they ultimately bring out the nature of Elgol and of Arran herself.
