John J. Woods, Ph.D., has earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s degree in wildlife science, and a doctorate in industrial psychology. He has been a certified hunter education instructor since 1980, is an NRA certified firearms appraiser and a personal firearms ounselor. Most recently, he was Vice President of Economic Development and Training at Eagle Ridge Conference and Training Center, Hinds Community College, Mississippi’s largest community college. 

John has been an award-winning author of outdoors material for over 37 years. During that time he has contributed to eight books, including The American Deer Camp and The Magnolia Club.  

He currently resides in Clinton, Mississippi.
