Joel Grice’s fascination and enthusiasm for collecting minerals began as a youngster after visiting the Royal Ontario Museum. He received his Masters and Ph.D from the University of Manitoba.

Ole Johnsen is the curator of the mineral collection at the Geological Museum of Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2001, he was awarded with a fellowship of the Mineralogical Society of America, and was honored by his colleagues in 2004 when a new mineral species, johnsenite-(Ce) was named after him.
